I regularly work with students to improve their writing and grammar, while also offering a proofreading service for any essays, dissertations, or pieces of work which need a second pair of eyes.
I can help in a number of ways, including (but not limited to):
- Referencing and citations
- Structuring your work
- Clarifying arguments and points
- Spelling and grammar
- Punctuation, syntax, and sentence structure
- Proofreading
- Writing clearly and precisely
These can be as lessons, where we talk through grammar points, work on a piece of writing, or discuss an existing essay. Alternatively, I offer ‘offline lessons’ where I send detailed, written feedback on an existing piece of writing. This can be in the form of content support, or purely proofreading. Proofreading anything under 4,000 words usually only takes an hour, which is just £30 for an offline session. If your work is more specialised or needs particularly detailed feedback, this figure may vary.

If you need some support with the writing of your dissertation or thesis, I can absolutely help. I can support with proofreading, grammar, and writing skills for all subjects.

Most clients find that an hour offline lesson (£30), with a couple of follow up emails or a brief chat on the phone to clarify any points (free of charge) is usually enough to get the results they want.

Professional writing
I’ve worked with a number of adult clients over the past few years who have needed support with their writing in a professional context. This has been for pieces such as:
- Cover letters
- CVs
- Job application forms
- Client emails
- Newsletters
- Web copy
- LinkedIn profiles
These clients have been a mixture of native English speakers lacking confidence in their written ability, and non-native English speakers who needed some extra support in perfecting their written use of the language.
Some of these services can be very straightforward, and simply require a short offline session. Others, particularly web copy support, are more in-depth and take significantly longer to complete properly. Get in contact for a bespoke quote.
Creative writing
While I have worked with creative writing students on their academic writing, for example reflective essays accompanying a longer piece of fiction, I do not personally offer any services supporting creative writing.
